There were plenty of home runs hit at that historic park and Giant's centerfielder Willie Mays slammed his share including the last one ever to land in the bleachers...Sunday..May 8th, 1966...here Willie rounds third base in the top of the ninth inning of the last game ever played at Grand and Dodier..the Giants beat the Cards 10-6...remember [...]

Like most of the others in that era, the scoreboard was manually operated...this pic is from the 50's...notice a full schedule with only four games per league...and the Brooklyn Dodgers are at Milwaukee..that's the New York Giants playing our Redbirds! Expansion didn't hit till '61 and by then, the Giants and Dodgers were on the coast.......
