That’s what sportswriters had projected for the Dodger’s Frank Howard in the early 1960’s, if for no other reason than his size..he was 6 foot 8 and weighed 275 pounds..but the most he ever hit in one season was 48 in 1969 as a member of the Washington Senators. He finished up with a respectable 382 for his career and later managed both the Mets and the San Deigo Padres. Proving to be a big man in more ways than one, Howard later and even today spends his time raising money for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
